Disk Cleanup
Cleaning up old files that are no longer used not only saves disk space and reduces backup time but also improves file system performance. Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, have Disk Cleanup wizards that are available on the System Tools menu. These Disk Cleanup wizards scans the file system to identify temporary files, unnecessary program files, files that have been moved to the Recycle Bin, and Internet files that are cached locally on the disk. It then allows you to select which of these files are to be deleted.
